Specialist Applications

British Springs are capable of producing anti roll bars with forged ends and varying shapes in bar diameters of between 8mm and 60mm, these can weigh between 1kg and 50 kg.

The anti roll bars are formed on dedicated hydraulic rigs and can be produced in varying batch sizes.

Anti roll bars function by reducing vehicle body roll, this is achieved by mounting the main length of the bar to the vehicle by means of rubber bushings. The arms of the anti roll bar are then attached to the suspension on either side of the vehicle. Thus connecting both sides of the vehicles suspension.

Hence if one side of the vehicle is compressing its spring due to an uneven road surface, then via the anti roll bar, the other spring is brought in to play to help reduce the body roll caused by the spring compression.

The diameter of the anti roll bar has the largest effect on the anti roll bar stiffness since the stiffness calculation involves the fourth power of the diameter hence British Springs with its large diameter range can tailor solutions for many applications.
