Multi-leaf springs or laminated springs have for many years been the industry standard springs. A multi-leaf spring uses constant section steel throughout its length and has interleaf contact over its whole length. Thus the spring is usually very stiff and tends to pass most of the road energy through to the vehicle and its load.
