Parabolic springs are springs which are produced on a hydraulically loaded taper rolling mill. The mill is computer controlled and the designer is able to calculate the taper which he wishes to use in his design to minimise the stresses in his spring leaf and can then program the mill to reproduce this taper on the redhot leaf.
